We don't give out gold stars anymore because they have sharp edges. And circles do less harm if you swallow them.
Anyway, in what activity did I grade?

Yes there are belts, if memory serves me correctly they are:

white
white-yellow tag
yellow
yellow-green tag
green
green-blue tag
blue
blue-red tag
red
red-black tag
black
then all the different "degrees~" of black, 1st degree, 2nd degree ect. The highest when I was doing it was 9th degree by "the master ching chong someone or other"

I did Tae Kwon Do, got to red belt black tag, how comes I never had to do anything on my finger tips? Couldnt win the high kick in the tournaments as I was too short.

Well done, I hate those press ups. I have thin girly fingers so it hurts like hell. Love the Tae-Kwon-Do kicks, I can imagine a lot of stretching is required as well as some particularly good co-ordination.

Damn right. And then you have to learn Korean. I'd say that would be more useful in a fight though, just recite some at them.

Yeah, you tend to be thinking more about not getting punched in the face than how you should be standing. Also, jumping up and down all the time in "Readiness" just makes you look like a gimplord.

That's what I've found. It's not all punch block punch like in films such as the Matrix, in fact it isnt clean fighting at all. It's just all a confused mess with flailing fists and incoherent shouts.

No, when you are in a fight that stuff goes right out of the window. Your primal instincts take over and you just start throwing your fists around. Its all very unglamourous.

You ever used it, i.e. in a fight?

I used to do Tae Kwon Do, i got to green belt with blue tips before i decided it was boring and i jacked it in.
