I wish I had more time myself for the forums. You'll find it odd I expect, but I know very little about the games themselves. Running the business overtook any detailed interest in games many years ago. Anyway, I have a terrible memory, so I never remember them after I have played them. Coming onto the forum helps me to tune in.
But, I really don't have the time. It's a tough world and I have to work really hard to help us compete with larger companies. So I guess I'll just POP back from time to time to see how things are going.
See if you can get everybody to introduce a friend to the forums! Newbies, that's what we want.
I didn't come back on for a while. As you can see, people just posted one comment and then went away, and no-one replied. There was no reason for me to go back.
Much later, after I started writing, I decided to come back on, and won another game. After noticing how many more people were on this time, I stayed. And I'm still here.
Well done Tony.
Found this above Ant's first post but the original topic was made before Ant's first post.
So is this finally Grix's first post on this forum?
I find it very annoying sometimes when I read the newspapers and
find that the goverment refers to games as childrens toys and
things that children grow out of. How is this? How is this when we
have 18 certificates on games? How is this when the most owners of
playstations and n64's are over 20? Instead of refering to these
games as childish toys, they should be encouraging them as the way
forward in entertainment. When watching films like James Bond
films and action films like that, I know most people that watch
them enjoy believing they ARE Bond. Games make this possible by
letting us become the lead character, letting us become the hero.
An excellent example of this is Half-Life on the PC. It is a very
involving gamwith an excellent plot and a great hero. This is what
we want in games, something that we can believe that we are
involved in. Something that makes us believe when we play the
game, that the monster is running towards us, and we MUST fire
that gun or be killed. Something that gets our heartbeat racing.
THAT is what makes a game better than a film.
