You can even play DVD movies on the PlayStation2 although you’d be better off with a Sony standalone player should you require the top quality viewing picture and clearness. The DVD player plays all region2 DVD, so it’s not a multi region machine, but then you aren’t exactly going to buy many Australian or USA DVD! The Digital sound arrives with the PS2 so you can play your favourite music in it too – it’s a very high quality CD player.
The games available at the moment are not all that amazing, but there are around 10 games that you should consider if you want the cream of the crop! Star Wars Star Fighter is a brilliant game, although it can be frustrating when the computer seems to take control of your craft! Great graphics on this one and superb fun! SSX snowboarding is the best snowboarding game out, and has a devilish 2player and 1player mode – it’s as cool as ice. Dead or Alive 2 is a better fighting game than Tekken Tag tournament so get that one, and make sure you take a look at the superb NFL 2K1 which seems to be neglected! It’s better than any other sports game on the console.
Get a PS2 if you want a DVD player and something that can play all your PS one games on as well as being a next generation console. It’s 5 stars for the Sony machine, and they are alternatives, but you know you want this one!
It can be in any of the forums, some of them are filmaday, some are gameaday, or you can put in reviews or cheats.
How does one win a game then????
Although i may wait for the XBox or 'Cube.
I wish i could buy 'em all, but i can't afford it.
:-(
'arghh!!!'
No seriously, it's a good thing that Sega is on board with others than just the Dreamcast because they won't have to wait to produce more impressive games (i.e for a Dreamcast 2) using the graphical abilities of the latest console, and that the PS2 will play DC games and PS2 games, raising the standard - just like Vauxhall.?
Hmmmm
Oh dear, you mean you havent played it?
If they get the conversion even half right, you PS2 owners are in for a real treat.
I find it slightly ironic that it's Sega who has to rescue PS2 owners from the barrage of dross they currently have to put up with....
*Expect's a load of abuse any minute......
:-)
And of course, the awesome MGS2 demo.
Great post, by the way.
