PlayStation 2 is amazing, but it has only been given a couple of good games to really test its 291mhz of processing power – a 128bit games machine which sold out in Japan, and made it’s way into the world Guiness book of records for the fastest ever selling games machine. With the PS one success, Sony hope for similar things with the latest games machine out there – and it is very good, but it will get a whole lot better!
You can even play DVD movies on the PlayStation2 although you’d be better off with a Sony standalone player should you require the top quality viewing picture and clearness. The DVD player plays all region2 DVD, so it’s not a multi region machine, but then you aren’t exactly going to buy many Australian or USA DVD! The Digital sound arrives with the PS2 so you can play your favourite music in it too – it’s a very high quality CD player.
The games available at the moment are not all that amazing, but there are around 10 games that you should consider if you want the cream of the crop! Star Wars Star Fighter is a brilliant game, although it can be frustrating when the computer seems to take control of your craft! Great graphics on this one and superb fun! SSX snowboarding is the best snowboarding game out, and has a devilish 2player and 1player mode – it’s as cool as ice. Dead or Alive 2 is a better fighting game than Tekken Tag tournament so get that one, and make sure you take a look at the superb NFL 2K1 which seems to be neglected! It’s better than any other sports game on the console.

What's all this Gameaday.co.uk and Filmaday.co.uk? If you can win a game, then maybe it will be cheaper for getting a console in the long run - making sure that you choose a decent game that will last, and therefore you'll only have to pay out the money for your Xbox, Dreamcast, GameCube, Nintendo 64, GameBoy, PlayStation or PS2!!

To be honest, i was never planning on getting a PS2. But now that Sega are developing for it, i am tempted.
Although i may wait for the XBox or 'Cube.
