"Tempted to buy HL2, BUT..."

I've only got a 56k modem! NoOooOOoOooOooO...

I could just buy the game over Steam and instead download Counter-Strike: Source (it's more managible than HL2's 2GB download!). The reason why I can't go to the shops is because of health reasons, which is why I'm thinking of this route.

I think It'll be CS:S that is the deciding factor, or HL: Source as that might be a small download as I've already the original installed.

How much does its American price translate into pounds? It's something like 40-50 dollars I think for the silver/gold version.

Well that's true. If you're team is winning 5-0 or so, and they all buy AWP's then it does suck. But you can't hate the gun because of that...hate the noobs using it :D

Takes skill, yeah, but when one team's doing much better than the other then they all start packing awps... well it's kind of annoying. Chances are that at least one of them will hit you first time.
Meaning instant death and no money to buy anything better next round.

I'd rather use a scout anyway.

The AWP actually requires alot of skill providing you don't have a noob on the receiving end. But that's the problem, there are alot of things that normal users don't understand about CS. It has got alot of depth...it's not just "get good at aiming and you r0x0r"

My teacher said I did alright. I think I got a B and since I improvised the whole thing I think I did well. I also got an A* in reading, woooo! Listening I got a C :( but I was 2 marks off a B.

But then, I never got into 1.6.
Pity they haven't fixed the AWP bug yet.

Hoho...the funny thing is that all of the "pros" that I know from CS 1.6 think CS:Source is crap. Apparently the recoil on the guns is utter sh*t. I'll have to wait to make my decision though...
