Before I get into a rant about the cost of the trains, I was wondering if anyone can give me any general tips about interviews for unis, preferably with people who have had the experience of having been through one.
I've got general tips like "read the papers before you go in so you can talk about news stories" and "be able to refer to things on your personal statement" - just wondering if anyone could offer me anything else.
Truth be told I'm not nervous as this isn't vital to me. That and I'm uber-cool.
I just got a conditional offer from Central Lancashire (BBB), and have two others in the proverbial bank.
Thanks for any advice thrown my way.

I'm a rogue agent, for serious, just wondering if there's any secret handshakes that means my father is an Asian dignitry and will ensure an offer of a place.
> Central Lancs? Preston you mean?
Yeah, its called "The university of central lancashire" now, though. www.uclan.ac.uk it's in preston and all that, though.
I'm looking beamishly at it.

I've not been to an open day, yet. I think I'll have a trip there this spring and check the nightlife with some friends.

getting a taxi to Leeds centre at 6 to arrive there at half past 6ish (making allowances to find platform, get coffee, etc)
The train leaves at ten to 7.
Arrives in Preston about 8.50
Ten min wait.
Ormskirk train arrives there at 9.30
20 mins walk to uni.
its a bloody long morning though.
Seriously good luck with it though.
