"Used Fireworks for the first time yesterday..."

...and it's pretty flipping good. Been asked to make some ads for quite a high profile anti-virus company, and did most of them in Flash, except for the odd one which could be gif or jpeg only. Got a bit worried when I realised I didn't have any animation apps, but then remembered seeing something in Flash that mentioned animated gifs and Fireworks, and after a quick learning session, found that it's really easy - a cross between Flash and Photoshop, very handy! So I'm quite chuffed with the Flash stuff. Hopefully the client will like them and we'll get more work.

Oh, they're appearing on TheRegister.com - that's quite a well known site, right? Looks like I've landed on my feet with this design company.

I prefer to devote time to programming, rather than animating/design work. I don't think there was any need to what you said.

I might take a look at fireworks. I do alot of graphics and webdeisgn, and have been using flash and photoshop for years.
Never really thought about looking at fireworks.

I have never devoted much time to flash or fireworks, my little brother on the other-hand (Who is 10) is coming along nicely with some animations and the like.

I find photoshop and fireworks very similar, except fireworks has the obvious advantage of being able to make animations. The frame function is exactly the same as Flash's, which is handy. Yeah it's great - I can't believe I never used it before.

I've always used Fireworks.

I tried using Photoshop a while back but just couldn't figure it out at all, so stuck with good old Fireworks.

It's a top app.

I'm getting quite worried actually, because the client hasn't come back and said they're ok yet. Don't want to post links to them until they're confirmed.

Fireworks is a nice bit of kit. If you ever get into the whole XML/Image dynamic relacement thing it does, you'll be amazed.

Well done with the work too. I'm off for an interview with an agency in London in the next couple of weeks, sound like quite a cool job with sonme very nice bonuses! ANything to get away from where I am at the moment.

Use Flash.

I'm actually not very good at this sort of thing, or general layout stuff. The ads have a running theme of a red background with snow, and I made a random snowflake generator thingy that looks pretty cool.
