Anyone know how I can solve this? I downloaded it using the link phi11ip gave yesterday, but once it's downloaded and set up, it won't connect so that I can download new stuff.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Cheers

I reckon that most of the people that 'know' would say either go back to a previous version as previously suggested, or move on to a new filesharing network - at the moment that's bittorrent but pretty soon it will be something encrypted, which will pee off MI* even more than than it pees off record and movie companies. Ho ho, download Napoleon Dynamite anyway, it's freaking hilarious.

For services, do Start > Run > service.msc

There are various guides online as to what to stop and what not to. A bit of common sense is always useful.

For actual applications, do Start > Run > msconfig > [Startup]

Try searching online for program names if you're not sure what to disable and what to keep. Googling for the program names will usually give you a link to a page which tells you what the program is, and whether or not it's safe to disable.

I have 23.
How do you stop processes from starting when the computer starts up? And what are good to stop?

I think I'll look into Limewire Pro, if it's as good as everyone says it is.

No idea as I haven't played with my current system without giving XP the sexual make-over.

It does help to free up RAM without a doubt so it does have an effect on performance. Plus I am a picky f**ker and everything has to be [----|----] or I aren't playing ball.

Wonderful...
... and so easy-to-use even for a technophobe like me. I had my website up in a couple of hours. Thank you.
