It is my wish to build a 7.1 system of unimaginable destructive power, but I was foiled before I even started due to having nowhere to mount my damn rear speakers. My PC is against one wall and is also in the corner. This means that distances to the 4 walls are not equal for a kick off, distances differing by quite a bit. If I was to mount the speakers on the wall they would be miles away and I'm guessing would sound pap at that distance.

The only way I can see of doing it is to turn my desk around so my back is to the wall, and bracket them all right behind me. This would be perfect for surround effect but would make my room look ridiculous and would make it impractical for anything other than sitting hunched in the corner getting cheap thrills out of Doom 3.

Surely not everyone is able to put their PC in the middle of the room, or have smaller rooms that mean speakers are never that far away. How do us none-middle larger room people get around this?

My mum and dad came up with some golden ideas - "Have them hanging by the ceiling by chains" "That would look crap and I'd bash my head on them" "Well, rig up some sort of pulley system so they retract up to the ceiling" *sigh*.

Any ideas chaps and chappesses?

they have them on here : http://uk.special.reserve.co.uk/q_GG6406_headphones__speedl.html

they look the same, although no model number on there. I think this could be the answer. 600% less hassle too.

"Medusa SL-8790 5.1 Surround Headset"

Search for that, about £40, but if you were going to splash out on speakers anyway i suppose it's probably a saving.

I believe the medusa 5.1 headphones are tops.

A bit expensive though.
