Righty. I have, yet again, come to the conclusion that my mouse is seriously affecting my ability to go more than 2 footsteps without getting raped with lead.
I have the following mice in mind:

[URL]http://uk.special.reserve.co.uk/q_GG6188_optical_mice__raze.html[/URL] - Looks good, not sure though
[URL]http://uk.special.reserve.co.uk/q_GG2536_optical_mice__raze.html[/URL] - This appears to be new-ish. looks nice and looks better than the other 2. But...Hmmmmm.
So, I know the top one at £20 was highly acclaimed back in the day, but does it still match up?
so if you could, please recommend me the best one. If the £20 one is going to be just as good as the £40 one, please be honest and save me the dollah.

The Razer Viper is the mouse I own along with the Razer X mat. Get the Razer X mouse mat (around £20-25) with it and you will have the best setup I have ever used.
I switch the mouse mat from speed over to control from time to time but the mouse is awesome and works superbly with the mat.
