I personally own an N64, Saturn and Dreamcast (among other older ones) and i was thinking why did i chose them and not a PSx or PS2. Well i bought my N64 cos of the hype surrounding the mario game really, i played it in a few stores, and really didnt like the stick on the controler (it was to tall i thought) and i didnt get a good play of mario either. then my mate bought one and i played goldeneye and lylat wars, WOW i was hooked, i saved up some dosh and bought it, after playing them 2 games properly, i fell in love with the machine. i got to play mario later and loved it even more. But without my mates having one and me getting to play it in a better enviroment (no queue of screaming kids watching my every mistake and tuting) id never have seriously got one i dont think.

I got my Dreamcast cos ive always loved sega, and being able to play HOTD2 Sonic Adventure and loads of other games, i just needed to have it, also the grpahics did help me decide, but im so glad i bought both them consoles. i enjoy playing on my mates PSx's but i doubt id buy one for the games, sure there are a few good ones out there (MGS comes to mind instantly) but theres a feeling about it that i just dont really want one. Althought i would love to be able to play Tekken 3 and Time Crisis when ever i liked.

I only got my saturn a few months back because id always wanted one but my rents had stopped me from getting one. So i got one for £30 after having read sega/saturn power from issue 40 all the way to issue 16 of saturn mag (it was sega power but then become saturn power) and if i hadnt had read all their reviews when i didnt have a saturn id never have really considered buying one. maybe thats the reason i havent bought a PSX i dont know.

Well thats my story, why did you buy your console? Especially PSX owners, seeing as i aint really interested in buying one, im wondering what made you buy one?

To play games!!

I had got rid of my N64 but decided to get it back for Perfect Dark, Zelda and No Mercy!!
I got a Dreamcast cause it was the best console out at the time, and always wanted a PS2 anyway!!
I want to get a GC cause being Nintendo the games are always going to be great, but will have to wait and see about X-Box - I'll give it a year!!

Im not to keen on Sony for some reason although they do have some good games that I like playing, but I can't find many good RPGs, Whereas DC have got some great ones like Skies of Arcadia and PSO!

But the console with the best of the best in RPGs has to be Nintendo the RPG masters and they WILL have the best next gen console.

Go Nintendo !

I didn't have much money, so I bought a PSX. I really enjoy racing games as well, which also influenced by decision. Then, when the PS2 came out, I decided to save up. Partly because I wanted to go on playing the games I had for the past 2 years, and partly because everyone says "Cool, you've got a PS2!". I know that's not a reason to buy a console, but it was only a very small part of it. Another reason was that it was the first of the next gen consoles. I'm not really counting the DC, as it really isn't that good. Also, I could see it was going to fail, but I never guessed they would stop making them!!!

So, that's it.

PS Please pay more attention to your spelling and grammar next time. It's not cool, it's not big and it's not clever.

I bought an N64 quite soon after release, mainly because of Nintendo's reputation. I thought it was going to be a worth while purchase. For a while it was, but i got bored of waiting for games to come out, of buying a magazine to find it had 1 review for the whole month.

Then the DC came out, it had a number of quality titles at launch, but i didn't buy it as i couldn't really afford it.

Then easter last year ('99) i had the money and there was a good deal, DC and some games and extra pad etc, so i took the plunge and bought it.

I'm well impressed with it!
