To put it into perspective, these are the speakers that will be used with it:

Taking this into consideration which one actually offers the best bang for buck, looking for monkey_man here or anyone else who knows their stuff!
Cheers!
The general smoothness of games has improved as well without audio lag. I will never build a PC again without a Creative sound card. Onboard sound is a bit of a b*stard and it uses more CPU power than I originally thought.
Not that I don't have a load anyway but I now have more!
*Cue Evil laughter*

Any card in the Audigy 2 range will get you very very low latency, the ASIO drivers work wonders, they also come with a MIDI port that plugs straight into the soundcard, in fact on the more expensive bundles the card comes bundled with a version of Cubase, just to illustrate that they are designed to work together...
It's just I need a new soundcard because i'm planning to get a midi keyboard and create music with Ableton Live 4, Reason 2.5 and Cubase SX3.
And at £60, that card is a steal.

Hmmm, I've never needed to do that..........
Hold on. I've recently reinstalled from scratch, with the onboard sound disabled via bios and not bothered installing the drivers. I've just realised I haven't got any cracking and popping through my SB! Cool!

yep.
then control panel -> uninstall the drivers and any apps that are related to the onboard...
Which reminds me, i need to look for updated Audigy2 drivers, that Creative website is a nightmare to get drivers off.

Disable onboard sound via bios, and off you go.
Question being..
Currently use nForce Soundstorm onboard, but had enoughof the drain on the system when running loads of apps. Has anyone got any advice for swapping from SS to SB?
I ended up buying the ZS, albeit a 'Gamer Edition' from the States (has 5 EAX-enhanced games bundled with it).
It's a top card and works beautifully with Creative speakers (I have the Inspire 5.1 system).
