A Dell XPS Dimension with various additions I stipulated. Yes I'm getting my pants pulled down over the price, but I'm a lazy git and I can't be assed either building or saving up for the parts to build my own.
I had a look at Alienwares efforts, but I don't have Liberias defecit in my sky rocket so this monkey will do.
I'm quite happy with what I have created, it's sorely needed as the memory on my wind up fossil here has died and I'm basically sick of the sight of it.
The only real reason I'm telling you is in case you guys have some better suggestions for the use of £1800 with regards to a PC.
I'm talking ready built, not parts. I am more than capable of building one up, but of course I'm a lazy bast so off the shelf is preferable.
Also, how much will I get for :
Pentium 700Mhz
256meg RAM
MX440 GFX Card
No frills sound card
17" monitor
20 gig HD
all the rest fairly standard, but is a full system.

Nice choice :D I work in the Evesham showroom selling them.
Tyla: Clawhammer and Newcastle are the exact same 130 nm core, except the Clawhammer has 1 MB cache as opposed to 512 KB. Clock for clock that would be somewhere between 3 and 5% of a difference performance wise in most things.
The Winchester was thought originally to be just a die shrink of the Newcastle, i.e. making it a 90 nm processor rather than 130 nm. However, there has been other things done to it, making it approx 3% faster clock for clock than a Newcastle. Hence Winchesters are better.
The next revision of the Winchester will see support for SSE3 instructions added. The Prescott core P4's have it now, but hardly anything uses it.
Now that's him geeked out of the thread!
You've positively nerded Borat out of the thread for good...

That indeed seems a bit crap.
Obviously based on the average score over votes.
OCuK egt 3.67 over 190 votes
Chill-Blast get 9.67 after only 39 votes?
Do if i added "Dogsnads PC's" and voted 10/10 twice, it's be striaght in at the top!
Not exactly accurate or managed well.
