So heres the deal, i'm running an Amd Athlon Xp 2600+ on a AsRock K7S8X mobo (just updated bios to the latest v2.60).

Problem is that the 2600 is only running at 1.92ghz, when it is capable of more.
I already posted this in the PC Gaming forum and got some great advice, but Damarus suggested I should post it here as there are more people with the technical know-how to help me resolve this situation.

From Damarus's advice, it looks like I'm going to have to alter the FSB and Multiplier settings via jumpers on the board.

Oh yeah, and the mobo did not come with spare jumpers so if someone could also reccomend a site to order some from I'd be very greatful.

Thanks in advance for any help.

(BTW: Is the Cpu Host Frequency in the bios the FSB setting?)

Thanks for the advice cookie. Now I know how easy it is to OC I'm tempted to get some better cooling and squeeze some more juice out of it.

Higher FSB is better, but increasing FSB also affects the speed of the RAM.

Hmm not sure which model I have. But even if it is the barton model, the little increase in power doesnt seem to have had much of an effect on the temperature.

It's not cookie. My 2400+ is just a tad under 2 Ghz (1968ish).
