-Vote rigging in Florida in 2000
-Suggestions of vote rigging in Florida again this year
-Bush's actions to destroy the environment
I'm only speaking for two and a half minutes, my partner will concentrate on the war.
Environment and Tax Cuts are good examples though.
Basically, he's cut the taxes that the rich pay by a large amount (being worked in percentages, it saves pennies for normal people with normal incomes) which lowers the governments budget.
This means less spending on public services and that like.
The middle class family, for example, have to pay a fortune for healthcare because of this, and examples like that.
Basically, the rich have been taking a big munch out of the American economy thanks to his policies and the balance has gone from +250 Billion dollars when he took over, down to -250 Billion dollars.
But I can't back this up.
I got it from that "Anti-Bush War game" that Grix linked a couple of weeks back. And that was OBVIOUSLY a biased source. :-)
He also rejected the Kyoto protocol which was the new world environmental standard as recommended by Scientists around the globe.
They calculated that it would cost the US more in the long run to deal with the environmental problems later, but those republicans seemed to be more interested in minting themselves in the here and now.
I mostly got this from the New Scientist.
He's also been linked with corporations, particularly Enron, and making laws in their favour which allows them to be "immoral" in certain ways.
I think it gives them more strength to demand more money from consumers over energy, for example, and other things like that.
This comes from the "Anti Bush game" again though, so if someone asks you to prove it hten you're screwed. :-)
Although I suppose I am open to questions from the floor...
To be honest I don't think people will question any statistics I use, and I can always provide links to resources afterwards for people who care to follow it up.
Like perhaps your best source for election rigging is Micheal Moore?
Hardly a fair and unbiased source. :-)
So just quickly find some sites to back up your points and you're all set for tomorrow. :-)
