Mate of mine at Uni wanted a shop to sell his audio gear, so I came up with this. Quite chuffed with myself actually - it's a whole f**king shop! He can control all the content, product management, frontpages, etc from the admin I built. It's still about 90%, but adding the products makes it look a lot more like a website - it was empty for about a month. the whole thing links in with Paypal at the end, but the trolley is all custom and stuff.

And what an excellent name for the content - he came up with that though, but I made the logo (brace for IMPACT!)

(oh, and all comments will be ignored at your peril - it's not finished, and I used tables so there ;p)

Not really, it looks pretty crappy behind-the-scenes, but it lets him manage stuff easily which is the main thing. In terms of time taken, I get stuff done prety quick when I'm in the 'zone', and I'd thought beforehand exactly what needed to be done, so I just did it. If you break it down, there are only about 5 or 6 major jobs that need to be done, and each of them can be done in under a day of slack coding and snacking.

The design is so simple when you look at it, but it looks really, really good.

I'm guessing it took ~slightly~ longer to get the back-end working though?

Probably about a week of actual time, with periods of laziness/delays inbetween dragging it out to about 2 months. Luckily it is for a mate, and it's the first time I'd tried a shop, so he was happy waiting (and still is, I think).
