How does everyone think the PS2 looks?

Personally, at first it looks pants, but it kinda grows on you. When you hold it for the first time, it looks quite a lot better than the zillions of pics in the mags.

Oooh, who saw PSM's first mock-ups of the PS2? Does anyone remember their favourite, the silver one with loads of buttons and an LCD display on top?

Sorry, forgot to ask, but which way in your opinion does the PS2 look best then? Horizontal or Vertical because I may be getting a stand for it. D'ya reckon it's worth spendin' a tenna on a stand which makes the PS2 look slicker hmmmmm?

Well,hurgh, hurgh (clearing my throat),.....I THINK IT LOOKS GORGEOUS! There you have it: my opinion on how the PS2 looks - gorgeous. Thank you and goodnight. Oh and by the way, i'll be getting one of these babies soon and i'm trying to win a game for it. Check out game forums listed under other games not listed bit, you know where? I'm hoping that it's a winner. Unfortunately I made a few mistakes; like missing out something when I was copying it out onto this site DAMN IT!

Ah, I see. I certainly prefer it this way. I haven`t actually opened up the back yet, though I remember Goatboy describing how he used it for storage of biscuits or something.

The original Japanese PS2 has the entire insides used for the circuit boards. In the 8/9 months between the Japanese launch and the US/European launch, Sony managed to re-design, re-organise and miniaturise the insides to a point where they only take up half of the original space.

Very true. Whats in that space in the Japanese version? They have the HD set to be external, so whats in the hole?

PS2 is physically larger than the original 'breeze block' PlayStation, and positively HUGE when it comes to the sexy new PSone. As far as N64 is concerned, I think it is larger, but I'm not sure by how much. I only ever saw an N64 once, when my cousin brought his round; but that was a few years ago, and I can't remember just how big it is!

Remember though that, while PS2's physical dimensions are on the large side, it *is* half empty! That currently-empty expansion bay takes up a lot of space! In fact, you could probably fit a PSone in there!

I agree with the weight, but the size thing must be very close. It is longer, and deeper, but it is certainly not as wide. I`ll check this out.

Was that PS2 vertical? It may make it apear bigger.

I think it is jsut the fact that the shape is different really. It is unlike any console before it.

As for myself and WM. WM is usually very well informed, so you can trust him. Myself however, I may often be wrong, so don`t be put off by my arguments!

P.S. don`t tell anyone in the FOG about this :-)

Yeah but together you and wookiee prove me wrong alot. The ps2 is big isn't it??. Don't have one myself but played on it before.
