An egg for a head, had poor little Pete,
Arms made from cheese and butter for feet,
His dairy-made body would slip slide away,
From the bullies who bothered him every day,
And the trails he left on the pavement were used,
For cooking up bacon in the fat that he oozed.

One summer's day Pete lay back on the grass,
Watching the birds in the sky as they'd pass,
When suddenly Pete heard a noise was emitting,
From the back of his head - it sounds like it's spliting!
The back of Pete's head was needing a-scratching,
And at once he a-realised his face was a-hatching!
The beak of a bird was tapping inside,
Breaking his skin and tearing it wide,
His cheese arms were flailing and flapping about,
He was now ailing as the beak would now sprout,
Snapping the shell of Pete's head in two,
The culprit revealed, a baby emu.

And if there's a moral to be heard from this tale,
That an egg for a head, be it cuckoo or quail,
Should be blown of it's yolk, as a word to the wise,
Unless than of course, it's a Kinder Surprise.

I normally click into a topic and click straight out again if it is a poem. Nice bit of writing there, got me from the first line :)
