Was, surprisingly, Halo 2.
Half Life 2 was there in second, and GTA : San Andreas pulled up third place.
Ugh. Halo 2 sucks.

Actually source is pretty much Half Life 2's multiplayer and I think your forgetting Half Life 2 deathmatch...

Halo 2 had a good single player, as in best console shooter ever single player and a fantastic multiplayer.
Halo 2 multiplayer > Half Life 2 single player for me and many others. Halo 2 also has a single player. Hence Halo 2 > Half Life 2.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas was not in the same league as either I felt.

I would have thought HL2 was a lock for everyone's best game awards.

La Pucelle is a great game. I bought it while on holiday and was surprised at how much i like it!
I have to say Half Life 2 really, really, really isn't as amazing as it everyone says. Although it's evidently great. Halo 2 offline, no. Online, yes. Still, not as bad as that C4 teletext one - FABLE won!
A little thing like that shouldn't get in the way anyway.

I downloaded it from Steam.
Now that took long.
Registration was a mere 5 minutes, the usual Name, Email etc, then a little survey you could skip, if you bothered to scroll to the end of the page.
Clearly it was different in the US, or they're just incredibly lazy.

Yeah, HL2 should of won. Apparently it came second because you have to log onto STEAM to register your copy which takes really long.
Well at least they didn't place GTA SA above HL2. But they still got Halo 2 massively wrong.
