Well, he was crappy, best thing he did was bring in McQuashie.

Did pretty well most of the time.
Not as good as that though.

I know, we lost one season on the last day.

You still got humped in Europe most of those years though.

Actaully, Aberdeen were one hell of a team until about 7 in a row.
That's when Scottish football was good.
And Scottish footballers were good.
You don't get to the Champions League semi finals by being crap, and Aberdeen gave Rangers a run for their money in most games, so Aberdeen would have done well too.

He only won 9 in a row because there wasn't any opposition at all during those years.

Well, munn, I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks Stachan would be better for the Scotland manager's job. Admittedly Smith is a great manager, but just because he won a lot with Rangers doesn't mean he will with Scotland.

At the end of the day, we should stop bickering; I can't see either not trying their hand at the role sometime in the future.

Fair enough, but Smith is one hell of a manager and would whoop Strachan any day, if you ask me.
Only Jock Steain managed 9 in a row in Scotland other than SMith, and he's possibly the greatest Scottish Manager ever, so what does that say about Smith?
He's close.

Yes, but the way you just wrote Strachan off because he's not a "winnAR" or whatever, you're just talking cack.

It's Strachan's turn now, in my opinion. He's a good younger manager that I think will help the Scottish team progress really well. He did an amazing job at Southampton and look at how they've crumbled apart since he left. Again, with Coventry, kept them in the Prem for sooo many seasons, and look at how they've just dropped out of the sky now. They don't look like returning to the Prem in a hurry.

But it doesn't matter anymore, because the SFA have refused Strachan's six year contract demands, so I can't see them going with anyone but Smith. Still a fine choice.

Yes, he's not a winner because he only won 9 in a row with Rangers and got them to the Champions League Semi Finals where they were beaten by Marseille who were later stripped of the trophy for cheating.

Strachan, erm, well.
