"I'm being 'comment spammed'...."

I only uploaded the updated version of my site to my host and I'm being 'comment spammed' by some casino/poker site. It's in my blog, you see, I'm using WordPress for my blog management, and some crappy spam bot thing keeps on posting comments onto various articles within the blog.

Each comment seems to be a random quote, with a link to some casino/gambling website.

Anyone know anyway of stopping these fiends from spamming my site?

I've deleted them all now, but there must of been at least 200+ of them and they'll return soon.

I was just using the picture as a reference image for the title area, and it just kind of stuck

It's getting modified as we speak.

The image isn;t stock, it's an original photo taken by me for which I hold the rights for. Don't have an issue normally as long as people seek permission first, in this case, didn;t happen, so I'm politley requesting you remove that image from you site.

BTW, do you relaize how easy it is to get a site shut down just by dropping your host a letter regarding breach of copyright which would include proof of ownership?

It's the comment function so anyone can post. Is there one of those 'enter the number shown here' validation things that you can use?

Otherwise you'll just have to disable it or make users verify themselves.

Comments can be inputted by anyone (which is probably where the problem lies....) but I think to Administrate my blog it is password protected.

What worries me is the fact that wordpress only asked for my password once which was when I was installing it.

Is your blog password-protected?
