The great grandson of the founder of Sainsburys supermarket is set to buy Leeds United football club for £25 million. He plans to pay the current bored £2 million each, wipe the debt clean, buy back the Thorpe Arch Training Ground and make plenty of money avalible to Kevin Blackwell who still wishes to expand the current club.

Talks that Leeds may fall through this division halted when it became apparent that Leeds were not an easy team to beat. Brighton managed to beat a 9-man Leeds team at the weekend whilst Premiership side Portsmouth held onto a 2-1 lead mid-week despite continual pressure by the elland road outfit who had been dogged by suspensions and injuries. Note the last time Leeds faced Portsmouth in Portsmouth the score line was 6-1.

Leeds' main problem has come from the lack of firepower with Leeds' 3 strikers Julian Joachium, Brian Dean and Michael Ricketts only scoring 1 goal each thus far this season. Meanwhile midfielder and Manchester United signing Danny Pugh has scored 6. Blackwell has hoped to turn his clubs goal drought around with the recent signing of David Healy from Preston. Don Hutchinson also maybe due on loan at the club from West Ham.

Isn't such a rotten time to be a Leeds fan.
