"Bouncers..."

..is the name of the play that I'm in.

I did post something about it a while back, but it's been lost.

Anyway, the play starts tomorrow night. Dress rehersal tonight. I'm bricking it already. It'll be even worse on saturday when I'v got my family/mates in. It's all worth it though, the feeling at the end when you take your bows really is amazing - as anyone that does anything in front of a crowd will tell you.

It's been a really good experience, and a great laugh. A big commitment though, I'd forgotten how much time it takes up. Still, hopefully it's worth it.

Technical rehersal was last night, sorting all the lights and music etc out. It'll look and sound bloody great, just hope I'm good enough to do it justice.

I was in our town's pantomime... before my voice broke.

Many congrats sir! Everyone has at least one play that fires 'em up like that. For me it was Cooking With Elvis. Bouncers is a cracking play and I'm deeply jealous of you for having done it!

The Winslow Boy for me next. I shall suppress my yawns. Somehow...

Well, that's it. It's all over. Weeks and weeks of rehersals, for three shows.

Went down bloody well though. Everyone really enjoyed, as did I. Forgotten how much fun it was. Hard work, but well worth it.

I feel kind of sad now, as it's all done and dusted. But they start reading for the next one in a week, so it'll start all over again. Don't know if it'll be as good as Bouncers though....

Yeah it is..even when i worked backstage for a change it's amazing. Pity I can't be in the play this year cos of uni..

I'm playing Les, he's the youngest one who's "Too violent Les. You can't control yourself."

Had the dress rehersal tonight. Managed to skip and miss 15 pages out the middle of act two, after Lucky Erics third speech. Still, nevermind eh?

Let's hope it goes better tomorrow.

I saw Bouncers about three years ago, damn good performance, especially the "blue movie" scene.

I'm lazy so I haven't checked all the posts in this thread, but which one are you playing?

edit - bah, I knew you'd say it somewhere. So, er... which one was Les? The martial arts one?

It was called "The Life and Death of Almost Everybody". I played The Sweeper, a man who cleans a stage and creates characters with his imagination that come to life. A confusing comedy drama that earned me lots of respect, if I do say so.

I was the lead role in the college play last year, which is about an hour and a half long. I was on stage ALL the time and had a million lines to learn.

Quinty, I'm playing Les!

It's really good fun to do. Knackering though as there's only 4 of you in it, and you're on stage all the way through.

Definitely the hardest/most challenging thing I've done so far...
