What are your good and bad points about the Playstation 2

Good

>Plays and enhances playstation 1 games
>Plays cd's with digital out to mini disc and dolby 5:1
>Plays DVD's with high quality and supports nearly every feature.
>Can store playstation saves on the PS2 8 meg memory card
>Dual shock 2 analog is great on the buttons
>Xbox and gamecube are coming which means competition and thats good because they work hard like the mega drive and snes they were both great cus they were fighting against each other unlike windows which has no competion and can be as crap as it wants to be.
>good future with the hard drive and usb harware
>Better than all the rest(excluding the Dreamcast)

Bad
>Cost £300
>If your using a square television with no aspect ratio adjustment, when your watching a widescreen version film it will be squashed and they look very very thin.so you have to look if it will be alright with your TV.
>Some games don't work very well on the PS2
>nearly all the good games are still in development.
>Some games(won't mention which ones) are giving the playstation 2 a bad name with the awful anti analising (squared edges)

no i think good games are based on gameplay not graphics and sound (look at the n64 it's awful) but munch's oddysee has drifted to the xbox because of the anti analising,i'm just pointing out that games can have all of this on this console (SSX,zone of the enders) why not fix it if the oppertunity is there.
like tomb raider 1 on the playstation 1 i love the game but finding some keys is sometimes very hard on the playstation because of the squares, but when played with texture mapping on the ps2 it looks as sharp as the playstation 2 games without a square in sight which means you can see alot more and enjoy the game even more.

Does that mean that all PS1 games are pants coz they don't anti-alias

I have the option to turn it on and off as a voodoo5 user, but I alays turn it off because it's an unnecessesary (SP?) waste of sys res.

People like you who think graphics are what makes a good game gives serious gamers a bad name

Now, who wants to pay Vib Ribbon to Bomfunk MC's Freestyler?

MEEEEEEE!!!

Hi i wrote that pretty rubish info at the top but am just saying the playstation 2 is capable of alot more,i've seen some games like zone of the enders which blows everything else away, but looking at most of the games like moto gp which makes good use of the pressure buttons but the graphics are flickering squres,I hope we don't have to put up with this much longer because the ps2 has no problem with the "anti analising" with SSX and some games.why can't they all be like that.

Whats SP2 like at playing DVD's?
What regions/features does it support?

The Ps2 only supports region 2 (UK), but as far as I'm aware you can do all the things on the PS2 as you can a dedicated DVD player.
As for the quality - it's excellent! But that's just my opinion. However it has been said to be the equivilent of a £300 - £400 DVD player! Not bad seeing as it plays games as well!

What about SSX TimeSplitters, Moto GP, Starfighter, ZOE, Quake 3, Sky Oddysey and the many titles just round the corner, GT3, Crazy taxi, Super Bombad Racing and Red Faction coming in the next few months.
