Someone posted about this company offering free we hosting (with various benefits). Anyway I signed up, and this morning I got an email with my log in details. Tried it, doesn't work and that lowftp.com seems to have vanished up its own backside. Any idea whats going on? When I go into my history the pages which worked fine yesterday, now don't and SR erased the original post (so I can't check it out). Do you think I'm ok, I mean what can they do with my name an email address I hardly use. *Thinks* Could this be a stupid scam where people who signed up the paid accounts and got nothing? I think this because they had long term hosting offers which sounded a bit dodgey. Post with your thoughts and hopefully there won't be too much name calling :(

That view saw one person cheat his way to £100,000 on ebay, and it looks like ebay didn't care the first time he was reported. I emailed them, and basically they said the same thing about it having nothing to do with them. Thanks afternoon

cPanel is a piece of software which makes it easy to administer a website, much like our control panel (apart from our Control Panel is coded in house) they make it easy for beginners to setup for example e-mail addresses. It is a highly used product other software such as Plesk are also available. They would have nothing to do with that company apart from lowftp would be paying a license fee to cPanel, thats it.

Found out one other thing. They claim to be powered by something called c-panel, well that isn't even up and running yet. Thinking back the most dodgey thing about that site was the 'short' terms and conditions that where about as long as this post. I've emailed c-panel to see if they know anything, and hopefully I'll get something back provided its not run by the same people. Do you think I should get in touch with trading standards because even though I didn't sign up for any of the paid packages others may have and they cost up to £45

So rather than writing 'I agree' they just quote and post.

And it can lead to interesting chains of names, which are mildly amusing.

Dear god, isn't it obvious?
They're concurring with the other person's point by quoting them instead of just repeating what's already been said.
