I always vowed to listen to his radio show sometime, too.

Bloody Hell...that's odd, never met the bloke but I do genuinely feel bummed by that, listened to him for years and have endless "Sessions" tapes in boxes from bands I loved.

Woah, i was listening to his show the other week and he said some female DJ would be standing in for him until he got back, i guess that won't be happening now.

wasnt it John who was riding on hiss bike and fell of cracking his skull ...if I remember he came to work on the radio radio 1 then and Janice Long made him go to hospital. Thats when he found out he cracked his skull

The does suck.

I loved the live sessions he invited The White Stripes to do, before they even became 'big'. He was pretty instrumental in them making it over here.

bit of a legend and has done a lot for music, he will be missed greatly, altough i couldn't stand his radio show.
