I only have Killzone as a full-version online game, but haven't played it yet.
So recommend me the popular-est online games on PS2 - without mentioning SOCOM 1&2, T.H.U.G, Burnout 3 or Pandora Tomorrow :P
and no Monthly-fee games either!

That's not nice.
Why you say that?
Seriously, why?
Anyhoo, might just grab Tiger Woods for now. Played Killzone online last night - pretty damn average unfortunately. Dunno about the single player, but the online multi is not even up to Rainbow Six 3 standards (I'm talking about the Xbox Live version here).
And it was laggy too - how do Sony manage it?? Xbox Live wouldn't struggle in the slightest, considering the basic graphics used.
BUT, I'm not here to start a bickering war with a Sony Fanboy. I'm glad I set it up for online, it's just a shame it has once again confirmed Xbox Live is superior in every way.

I wouldn't go as far as to say they are rubbish, in fact they are pretty good. I imagine they are a lot better than they would have been if Activision had carried on with the Pro Skater series. Don't want to see another T.H.U.G. though.
Ratchet and Clank 3
Burnout 3
THUG 2
I love my THUG 2.
That's the only PS2 online game that I wish was on XBox.
