Well done to the Arsenal Women's team who look set to do a clean sweep of domestic honours after yesterdays FA Cup Final with Fulham. Good omen for Saturday? Well, maybe not but it's good to see the ladies doing the club proud.

Having seen a few ladies games on Sky over the last few years the improvement in quality and competitveness has been noticable but they were still let down by atrocious (professional) officials.

Fulham has a clearly legitimate goal disallowed in a ridiculous offside decision and an Arsenal defender clearly fouled a Fulham forward who was one on one with the keeper. A penalty (well saved) was awarded but Arsenal should surely have been down to 10 players and 1-0 down by that point. Oh, well. C'est la vie.

4-0 to the Arsenal reserves. Not bad, especially as Bergkamp got a much needed goal. Parlour apparently had a screaming 25 yard drive come close and Barret played a full game after being out with Glandular Fever for too long. Hopefully we'll see him step up to the 1st team bench in the near future.

If the BBC (or like) were to put out a one hour show each week showing what's going on in youth and reserve team football I reckon the viewing figures would be quite high. Perhaps they should have shown it on Sunday mornings instead of a re-run of MOTD. Would you rather see reserve, youth and first team fringe players from Arsenal, Liverpool and co or watch an Italian league match ?

I think reserve/youth coverage would be a great idea. Liverpool are planning to show reserve coverage on their forthcoming broadband service.

For example, I would welcome the chance to see Bergkamp in action against the Scum reserves tonight. It's free to get into at Highbury but the crucial Liverpool game is on and anyway, it's a reserve game so I can't really be bothered to travel.

If i could stream pictures from the official website in future I would certainly pay to subscribe to such a service (if we ever get broadband sorted out in this country that is).

There were 13,000 at the final no10. Women's football is already big news in some countries and with Fulham turning professional it is also being given a higher profile in this country. What's your problem? It was actually a pretty entertaining match and a better afternoons viewing that a bank holiday Bond movie.

And no, Banks got the goal.

OK. I agree with the Bond movie comparison. But then again I would rather mow the lawn than match a Bond movie.

Personally I think that they would be better off having a weekly highlights program dedicated to reserve and youth tema football than women's football. That way you would be able to see the potential stars of tomorrow or see how some out of favour stars are performing.

Oh dear. I am not sure about Sandman, I reckon you should be named Sadman.

I am all far women playing the great game (and as an Arsenal fan I am pleased how well our ladies have done in recent years) but to televise it is ridiculous.

I reckon Sadman was probably the only one watching !!.

BTW - Did Marainne Spacey score ?
