First, the Sega Dreamcast. Does DC stand for Dull Crap? Or does it stand for Delightful Console? (Sorry, I just had to do that.)
The Dreamcast is obviously a great console, probably the best out in the UK at the moment. It has brilliant 3D graphics and great speed. And the games are pretty good as well. Soul Caliber is top class, and Crazy Taxi is a lot of fun. Also, some pretty good looking games are coming out soon. But Sega Bass Fishing? A fishing game? A FISHING GAME? Sorry, but I really don't like the idea of that. But otherwise, the Dreamcast looks in pretty good shape. But has it come out at the right time? Has it come out too late? I think it may have. I know one person who owns a Dreamcast, and I know quite a lot of people. All of my friends are waiting for either the PS2 or the Dolphin to come out. Has the Dreamcast not sold as well as it should've done because everyone wants the hyped PS2 or the Dolphin instead. I think that may've have happened. Of course, it's a popular console. But not as popular as it could've been. I give the Dreamcast 9 out of 10, losing one mark on the time it came out and Sega Bass Fishing.
Onto the Playstation 2. Another brilliant console. It has also been hyped a lot. It's obviously an excellent console and has sold very well in Japan. I've only seen pictures and so far I'm impressed with what I've seen. It looks great, and very fast. And the games sound very tasty indeed. Gran Turismo 2000, the awaited Tekken Tag Tournament, Ridge Racer 5, and The World Is Not Enough. But I've heard lots of bad news about it. Sites are saying that Sony's profits have dropped 42%! People are saying that it doesn't out perform the Dreamcast, even though the specs are better! Disappointing. But I'm not so sure. Sony, who are top class, aren't likely to muck it up, are they? And from what I've seen, it looks great! And after the success of the Playstation, surely they can make another console which is just as good. It's a big step forward from the Playstation.
People are going on about the DVD being rubbish and poor quality, but I say to Dreamcast owners, at least the PS2 has DVD! I'm probably gonna buy the PS2, but I'm a little disappointed in what I've heard about it. I give the Playstation 2 9.5 out of 10, losing half a mark because of the rumours that have been flying round.
The Nintendo Dolphin. I haven't heard much about this console. And what I have heard, doesn't sound good. It's likely to be delayed and it's coming out too late anyway. Just like the PSX, it's coming out later than the PS2, and quite a few would've bought the PS2 leaving the Dolphin in the cold. I already know Nintendo fans who are gonna get a PS2. Obviously, it's going to be a good console, but maybe not so popular. I think, if Nintendo want the Dolphin to be succesful, they need to accelarate their plans. As I've said, I don't know much about the Dolphin, it's been well concealed. I give the Dolphin 7.5 out of 10 because of the time it's coming out and I don't know much about this.
The X-Box. Sounds great. PC technology used in a console. But can Microsoft do well in the games department? They've never really made any good games. Although other manufacturers are gonna make games for them, they need to make their own. It's dark waters for them, but if they play their cards right, it could turn out great. I give the X-Box 9 out of 10, losing a mark because of the game situation.
So, I think the PS2 is gonna rule for a couple of years until the X-Box comes out. The X-Box will be successful if they've got the games situation sorted out. But who knows? The Dolphin may come out on top. I leave you to decide. Also, everyone has their right to their own opinion, so don't insult me about what I think.
And apparently he owns the forum.
Not bad, is it??
