You know it is, so what can anyone do that'll better a game to fit right in with life?

Behold, and enjoy....

Crazy Taxi was the best Dreamcast game of the first half of 2000, proving that arcade insanity can truly be experienced in the home, and so it sold as it's name would suggest, making it one of the most successful Dreamcast titles of the year, and is due to spawn a sequel arriving in later in the year. However, should you own a PlayStation2, things are about to get an awful lot rosier for you with the imminent release of Sega's masterpiece on the Sony format! Nothing compares with the virtual adrenaline rush that CT offers - it's a superbly addictive 1player game that's also fun to watch!

It's already high in the sales charts due to pre-orders alone, so the week after May 25th, you know which game will be the number one all format - only the second Sega produced title, after their in-house Hitmaker department enjoyed incredible success with Virtua Tennis! So, if you own a PS2, and perhaps feel like spending your 'hard earned' cash on something that'll last you more than an evening, get Crazy Taxi!

Judging by the graphics on the Dreamcast version, the big black box is going to perform wonders, hopefully showing it's true potential, with a decent hybrid racing game arriving before the mighty (let's pray) Gran Turismo 3 A spec lands in Europe.

It's a fresh idea, that even after a year still remains a highly playable tool of relaxation - choose your cab, forget the rules (there are none!) and make that $ sign your number one objective! Pick up the passengers, laugh, maybe grumble at their obtrusive comments like 'Hey, can't you park a little closer?' & 'You're one crazy driver!' of course, my favourite has to be 'watch it fool!' oh yes, it all brings back memories of my past life as a USA cabby! Crazy Taxi offers a cultural difference to most games -giving a sense that you're in the good old US of A! Perhaps. The objective isn’t that important to start off with, as you’re bound to just want to drive about and explore the huge cities (original and arcade) and laugh out loud when you find out about the (if you’ve never played Crazy Taxi, and do not wish to find out, please look away now) killer whale in the ocean and the odd couple of people snorkelling beside it, awaiting your presence and driving skill to take them to KFC!!

Crazy Taxi is as good as it gets – if not almost better somehow (how?), and so I cannot recommend it highly enough. At long last Sega are showing the world how far ahead they are in this industry – with PS2 Crazy Taxi they have the chance to become the world’s biggest software company. Us Dreamcast owners, however, already know they are! They’re getting away with porting a one year old game onto ‘the best’ console on the market, but good for them, Sony and us the consumers because this will raise the level of gaming on the successor to the most successful home console of all time.

I may well get Crazy Taxi 2 on the DC, and I’m sure a lot of you will, but it looks like the first instalment is set to sell the most copies this year out of the two! The wait is nearly over now – soon the odd 400,000 of you out there have the chance to screech past Pizza Hut on the wrong side of the road, in a place like San Francisco – all from the comfort of your living room chair! There’s the FILA store, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Tower Records, The Levis store and much, much more! ‘Take me to the church!’ ‘You got it!’ so you better do it! Get them there within the green time limit and you’ll get a bonus for being speedy, nice! If you’re slow, then your passengers won’t be happy, kicking your car in or occasionally jumping out your cab into virtual oblivion! Crazy Taxi is insane. It’s also one of the most original games ever made and should be to your liking. Genre defying stuff from Sega yet again!

It can be played once and you’ll have a great laugh, but as you get into the game you’ll discover new skills that’ll make your experience even more exciting! Pull off Crazy Dashes, Crazy drifts and crazy jumps to reel in the money! Drive well and you’ll be rewarded, but don’t think you have to abide by ‘the speed limit’ or drive on the right hand side of the road! Hurtle across building tops and maybe even try your luck along railway lines! This game houses an internal environment – it feels so alive to play, and thanks to a ‘suitable’ sound track by the Offspring and Bad Religion, there’s always an air of upbeat-ness!

I could go on and on and on, and yet it’s not even out yet on PS2! I hope for everyone’s sake it does look better than some rather jagged looking screen shots, but I have a feeling it’ll be even better than the Dreamcast version. Watch this space, thanks for reading and expect more soon.

Also, just to emphasize my point about you believing that - there are many who believe that Tekken Tag tournament features the most advanced animations ever seen in a video game - just because that's what someone said (possibly the back cover), you see these are marketing tools, used to hide the 'fact' that not every console is equipped for developers with dev tools. Maybe.

Shenmue.

I want to play it because of the amount of people who like it... driving games aren't my favourite genre, but I do enjoy them.

Maybe you don’t like it because it’s just not your style of game. I’m guessing you prefer games like Gran Turismo?

Anyway, no you’re not the long person who doesn’t like the game, my mate thinks it has a low life span and that it’s a pointless game altogether.

I hate to be the one to start an argument, and this post was going so well, but no one can dictate that it is a fact that one game looks better than anything out there now. So you're believing GT3 looks worse? I'm sorry but I have played ZOE, to my dismay although it looks alright it's a chore to play and is easy to complete, thus the conclusion graphics maketh not a great game! Although variations in opinion will take place.

Argh, you cannot believe that Ant found a fact???!! That's ridiculous, like saying I found a fact stating that Blackburn will win the Champions League in 2003!

Also, how does Crazy Taxi 2 sound????

Lol, have fun.

I really do appreciate Crazy Taxi for giving me wonderful gaming moments with my mates down the arcades.

I went down to my local arcade every Saturday using up all my pond coins I keeped finding under the sofa :-)

As I didn’t have my Dreamcast at the time, I reckon I have spent over £30 on this Crazy game. I loved the game but found that I had done pretty much everything that you can do on the game down the arcades so when I got my DC I didn’t buy the game.

I am not the biggest fan of driving games, but this is just not an ordinary diving game is it? It’s not just 100% racing…infact far from it.

I won’t go into too much detail as most people on FOG have played this game (be it at the arcades on the Dreamcast).

I think the best part of the game (When playing it at the arcade) was how spot on the steering was. It was exactly like I hoped it would be, even better.

What so many people like about the game is that you can just pick it up and play it without putting too much thought into it. It’s ideal to play it when you come back from the pub late Saturday night!

And there’s more. If you’re a Sony fan and own a PlayStation2 you are going to get the opportunity to play Crazy Taxi on your PS2. Let’s just hope that it is a good as the DC version, if not better :D

As I don’t have the original Crazy Taxi on my Dreamcast, I am anticipating the sequel with baited breath.

Ha, maybe so, but I guarantee Crazy Taxi will be voted the best PS2 game in a long while, picking up a good rating! I don't think Ant saying ZOE is the best looking game on any console makes an awful lot of difference to me, it's his opinion, and he clearly doesn't remember playing Shenmue! THe PS2 has 91.4mhz more than the DC so lets hope that future games look even better, I am sure they will! My mouth almost started to drool at the Virtua Figher 4 screen shots = that's going to be one pretty amazing game!!

Ok, thanks people,
Dan
