Listen to this guy:

Barzo Dosky, 17:

"I download songs without paying for them because I can listen to a wide range of music without having to buy entire albums.

"It's also much quicker and easier than walking into a shop.

"The people who operate the illegal file-sharing sites should be prosecuted, not the music fans."

So basically he's saying, "Don't sue me for illegal music downloads... just sue my providers."
Wouldn't want to be his friend.

Another one "worthy" of mention:

Kharis Walters, 18:

"Legal music download sites are too complicated to use. I have tried and given up. "

So, a no-brainer then.

...geez, talk sense Mr Dosky - I hope he never lives that statement down. If he doesn't agree with it then don't log onto them...simple as that. I hope his life comes to nothing for saying that ;p

As for "illegal downloads", the true crime is charging £16+ in some High Street stores for what costs a few quid at the most to put there.

I feel no remorse for downloading music, porn and tv episodes for free. I still fork out ridiculous amounts of coin regularly on CD albums and DVD's so the music industry can shut their fat mouths. I'd say my spending has increased, if anything, since the MP3 boom.

I'm not going to go out and buy an album just for one tune that I want.

I personally see the boom in MP3 downloads as something great for music fans- it's now possible to get albums you would have a lot of trouble finding in the shops with basically no fuss. It's a massive blow for the music industry, but if CD albums were of a more reasonable price then maybe this would not have happened on such a huge scale. And anyway, money is now being made out of downloading, thanks to those stupid enough to pay for a download- boosted by the arrival of a UK Download chart.

Added to this, My Coke Music is one of the most annoying music sites I have ever come across- thanks to Coca-Cola's promotion, I was able to download a few songs. But I found the site incredibly annoying- a lot of faffing around to get a download running, and then the realisation that all the files are in WMA format, not MP3, and that all the files are protected so cannot be put onto a CD. Plus, they have basically no 70s/80s music- not particularly convenient for me in any way at all, even for a free trial.

same as Borat.

i'll get the odd track here and there, if it's deleted or outrageously rare for example, but mostly i just have songs that i own and want to put on my mp3 player...

They make it out that major artists are close to leaving the business just because people are downloading their music, when it is far from the truth.

They must think we're idiots.

I take it for granted that I can get music for free.

Although having said that, getting music you want is often a complete joke with Kazaa :

--------

Ah, Badly Drawn Boy

*double clicks*

"searching for more sources"

*grinds teeth*

---------

great for porn though.

allegedly.
