I wander into this forum occasionally, hopeful to catch a glimpse of someone discussing the sport of kings - that being motorsport. Perhaps a thread on touring cars, rally, superbikes, rallisport or V8 supercars.

All I find is thread after thread discussing some namby pamby "oooh get me han'bag margaret, I've chipped a finger-nail!" sport called football. What's the crack?

Oh, and Formula 1 although technically motorsport, is so commercialised and monopolised these days, watching it is generally as exciting as counting the legs of a herd of sheep and then dividing by 4.

Yeah, Skoda and Mitsubishi are entering full time next year apparently so McRae will be looking to get in there or some bigger team, especially if Citroen don't offer Sainz a smaller schedule.

McRae might even share a drive with the driver he's supporting, can't remember the name, Meeks or something like that.

aye, reliability is a problem. I notice McRae put in an appearance, looking for potential employers for next year.

It's a shame Loeb has had such great reliability and Solberg hadn't stayed in a few more rallies because the title race is pretty much over. Oh well, still great driving from Solberg. They seriously need more cars though and they have to be competitive.

That Peugeot gearbox has been a nightmare.

I love motor racing, love Touring cars, Indy, Champ Cars (F1 is dull as dishwater now though) i just can't see how it's 'harder' than football when they're in a big old metal shell protecting them

Down to the fastest car? well, maybe in Formula 1, but ...

Oh, and Grandprix, I've been watching quite a bit of the rallying, class as always. Solberg(sp) walked Sardinia.

I think any kind of motor racing is hard physically. Your body gets put through a lot. Drivers lose a lot of weight during a race due to dehydration.

There is no doubt in my mind how hard it is on the body. It's still about as much fun to watch as Ground Force without Alan Titchmarsh.
