Hmmm, I may be wrong with this, but, I think violence existed long before computer games. A wild thought I know, to think Humans are capable of barbaric acts to one another without playing Herdy Gerdy to put them in a blind rage in the first place is simply ridiculous.

If you want a serious answer, try asking a serious question. "Do games affect people" pfft, please.

yes vidio games do effect people to the extent that they desensitise people to bad language and maybe even violance but if you follow that argument and blame games for the current state of our society then you have to go back allot further than grandtheft auto

tom and jerry for instance showed several generations of childeren the most hidiouse violance

punch and judy shows before that entertaind kids at the sea side with a man hitting his wife with a stick

did whole generations of children grow up to be psycopaths and wife beaters

well yes they did as a matter of fact but tv violance had only a minimal impact on this (lets face it only a moron can thick it's ok to slaughter people with a cheesegrater because he saw it in a game)

no rather the reason for the decline in morality lies with our goverment taking away power from police , teachers and even parents

we must take responcibility for teachiung our kids right from wrong form an early age and we must make these teachings stick

Of course they affect me.

Lets say I had a cup of coffee sitting on my desk, and then, after many attempts at something, i hit my desk, knocking over my coffee, burning my hand.
That would have affected me.

No of course they don't affect people and i'm offended that you'd ask me to answer such a retarded question. Shove your Daily Mail up your ass and give me a decent question to answer

There you go, there's your essay to hand into teacher

erm.. not no effect but no negative effect, that's what I meant.
I think there was something in an old PC Format I have, about positive and negative effects;
Hand-eye coordination and some other stuff I can't remember

Ive just been reading about something like this toady in an old copy of edge. It said only a minority had a bad/negative effect of playing games, whereas the majority it mostly benefited. Its blatant Games have had a massive impact on society/culture etc, much in the same way as movies. Its a social or an individual mean of entertainment, and now its even global. I dont know whether or not you are talking about all ways in which games affect people, but there are plent of things to talk about.

Also saying you cant find anything on how games "dont" affect people is stupid. thats like saying you watch a film without even opening your eyes and closing your ears. The only way you cant be affected by games is not to play them.

Well who's going to do research into what effects games DON'T have? You'd be doing it forever
