For a sink it is better, whether its kitchen or bathroom. But for a bath, two taps are better as you then get more water flowing in at once, and it's easier to get it at the desired temperature.

Either way, I have no idea why we're talking about this.

What do you mean by appliance? I was thinking use in the house, but what other occurences are there were a single tap isn't better?
