The opening chapter had tears streaming down my face. I almost felt sorry for the hitman during the book. The handcuffing at the end had me doubled over laughing. Stephen Lime makes a reappearance in "Boiling a frog", where he attempts to "touch base" with Paralblane. Why is Parlablane in prison? That would be telling. :)

I read it. Now I feel even more sorry for fat-hitman-whose-name-I've forgotten! The train, the train!
Twas hilarious, especially the 'Lime's second worst day...' and then his worst day' bit. ;)
1984 - Orwell
Catch 22 - Heller
Heart of Darkness - Conrad
Minnipins - some random woman. I loved it when I was.........7
LOTR - Tolkien
Pigeon Post - Ransome
all nice an easy and known...I can't remember any others. My memory really is bad.
> 1984 - George Orwell
Great choice.
Where are the classics?
Emily Bronte's: Wuthering Heights
James Fenimoore Cooper's: Last of the moheicans
Honestly.

Excellent film!!
;p
Have heard of most of those you mentioned, they're on my amazon wishlist. I dare say when I've finished this I'll be ordering some more.
"Only Forward", "IT", "The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch", "I am Legend", "A Scanner Darkly", "Spares"
My suggestions.
Vurt - Jeff Noon - "to harsh for hippies, to beautful for bikers."
1984 - George Orwell
Catch-22 - Joseph Heller
Slaughterhouse 5 - Kurt Vonnegut (sp)
Quite Ugly One Morning - Christopher Brookmyre. far better than the emasculated excuse of a version shon recently on ITV.
Many, many others, but these I can read repeatedly, and get as much enjoyment out of them each and every time.
