Well Rooney proving me wrong with his first game, if he keeps up this form i may be inclined to forget about missing out on Ronaldinho (doubt it though :-D) Amazing what the lad can do with a decent team around him :-D
Oh and one more thing - how's that humble pie tasting Rustu? What's that? Oh you can't fit it in your mouth as both of your feet are in there already. Ah well :-D
YUK! I hate it, sorry! :S
---
I am all-for a three-man attack now we have Rooney the team - just so long as we have a competent, proven defense to go with it. I mean, we were on top for so much of last night's game, yet, we still conceeded twice.
Not the most impressive back line in history but with that attacking force we can always go by the old motto of if you score 7 we'll score 8 :-D
But, to then score a third - in a very David-Beckham-like free-kick-style, with a "Look at ME!!1!" celebration to go with it and each goal United scored - that was truly something else for a debut at the `Theatre of Dreams´!
Still, I don't think we should get too carried away with it, just yet. Like ITV said (when they weren't verbally whacking-off over a portly 18-year-old), it's hard to pick holes in United's performance last night - but, once again, our own defence nearly got the better of us!
We dominated the match on chances, but it didn't take the Turkish side very much at all to get themselves two goals - something Chelsea have struggled to find in their last few league games... :S
Then again, with a great "European Squad" in our possesion (even if we haven't made the best of starts in the Premiership), I've always thought we have yet another great chance of going all-the-way in the Champions League. And, now I've seen Wayne Rooney - even if it was just one game - the expectations have simply got to be much greater now.
I was one who was against the signing of this young man for so many reasons, and I now have worrying doubts as to whether Alan Smith or Louis Saha will still be here next summer (not forgetting Solskjaer, should he recover, even...). But, if the boy can play like that for just a little while longer, I'm sure all will be forgotten - even by ME! :o
