Ok going by the past few days there has been a countdown with certain letters at the start of the countdown, however today it looks like there arn't any numbers which would mean it would be launching in the early hours of the morning, if you wanted something to push that GPU to it's max, this is gonna push new cards like my 6800 GT the same way that 03 pushed the 9800's. Check out futuremark's site here : http://www.futuremark.com for some pics of it running, looks amazing!

Even at stock speeds it is the best desktop CPU at the moment, even more so than the 2mb Cache Pentium 4 3.4GHZ.

I have mine overclocked by 110MHZ safely and it is by far the fastest CPU I have ever seen/used. Running games with top whack everything - coupled with the X800 XT PE - causes absolutely solid frame rates on pretty much every game out.

As you know, I had the 1mb Cache Pentium 4 Prescott CPU before I had this and the difference between the two is unbelievable, the FX53 destroys it.

That's a bit OTT. The FX53 at stock is effectively a 3700 with extra cache. So depending on the application it may outperform a P4 at up to 4.5 GHz, but by the same token other applications will have a 3.6 or 3.8 GHz P4 outperform it.

But what is fact however is that the FX53 couple with a big overclock to the 3 GHz range is the most powerful desktop CPU available.

I don't trust Tom's Hardware Guide much now. He's known as raving Intel fanboy.

Where on earth did you get that statistic?

I've not tried 3D Mark 05 yet, so can't be certain, but first make sure the drivers are set to performance by going to the advanced properties of your display settings and setting the sliders to performance as opposed to quality.

Also close running programs when benching. Investigate which Windows processes you can turn off as well.

Yeah it's the FX53 with X800 XT PE and Corsair 3200 XMS PRO.

The X800 is over clocked but the CPU is only at FSB 206 due to only using the stock cooler for now. That takes it from the standard 2.4GHZ to 2.5GHZ. It takes a Pentium 3.4 - Northwood or Prescott - to be clocked at 4.5GHZ just to reach FX53 stock performance, online mode for 3DMark03/05 I am yet to see anyone come close to the CPU score.

Was that with or without overclocking?

Your spec is a lot better than mine and you only got an extra 200 marks?? You may wanna check your settings and run that benchmark again!!!

Got 6100 dead. Top CPU frame rate was 10 on the space test, lowest was 3 on the ship test.

Amazing visuals.
