This has been visiting my garden every day for the last month or so, and it's massive now! Not only that, but it comes right up to the patio doors, even when the cats are right behind it. So now I have to be careful when the cats go out, otherwise they'll have squirrel for dinner, and I don't want that on my conscience.

Too true. Meanwhile, we really should be trying to save the reds.

Not seen a red squirrel in these parts for almost ten years

Grey squirrels stole the red squirrel's land, the reds are the native ones, not the greys. Bad greys..

A bunch of conservation people I know loathe squirrels - apparently the grey ones are nasty invasive buggers that have been known to nick eggs from nests and the like.
