Taken from Sky Sports:

"Keane feels that only Rooney and Paul Gascoigne, in addition to Ryan Giggs, have emerged as genuinely gifted British performers over the past 15 years.

"Gazza's one of two players from the last 10 or 15 years I would have paid to watch," Keane told United We Stand. "One of two who really excited me.

"Rooney is the other one. I watched him against Bolton a while ago and he hit the post about six times and destroyed them.

"Maybe a young Giggsy too. Maybe I would have paid to watch him."

Now, Roy Keane is stupid. Please agree. Those few players from 15 years?

Or maybe I'm only angry because he didn't mention Joe Cole and implies my other hero is past it. Ryan Giggs is and will always be better than you, you dirty Irish ankletapper. Now go and beat up a kid while Joe Cole laughs at you.

John o'shea seems a little lost in the middle of the park. Whenever he got into the box against Liverpool he didnt know what to do with the ball! Was superb running down the wing a season or two back though, especially one game against newcastle where he cut inside and smacked a shot against the frame of the goal.

Scholes was superb with his shooting a few years back. And yes i would have paid to see a lot of his goals, but i'd rather pay to see the likes of cristiano on mondays form. Perhaps scholes used to practise alot of shooting with Beckham and with him gone he's a little lost? just a thought.

i've stopped watching chelsea.

Didnt watch chelsea spurs on sunday as i knew it would be a bore fest.

Mourons interviews are probably most exciting things at the bridge these days...

Oh, and Ortega - You don't think watching Joe Cole play is genuinely exciting? He's the only Chelsea player who's worth watching, apart from maybe Paulo Ferreira.

Fair enough. I wouldn't pay to watch either of the Neville brothers, or even David Beckham, now. John O'Shea, however, is a defender I would pay to watch (when his confidence is back).

But, you can't tell me you wouldn't have payed to watch Paul Scholes thump THAT VOLLEY away to Bradford a few years back for a second time, now, could you! :I

The only problem with Paul Scholes is that he appears to have 'lost' something from his game today in what he had only a couple of seasons ago.

Perhaps Sven-Goran Eriksson killed it, with his rediculous tactics and formations?

The Rooney debut on Oct 3rd story.

I'll be glad when Rooney starts playing, it means I can get Defoe out of my fantasy football team. Having a Spurs player in it...Almost as bad as having an Evertonian. I'll have to settle for a former Evertonian. No worries :)

Keane is right there though.

He's talking about genuinly gifted exciting players.

Beckham: since when has the ability to hit the ball 60 yrds at every given chance been exciting.

Scholes: great touch, vision and passing. But lacks acceleration and the ability to take on people.

And how in gods name are defenders supposed to be exciting?! Who says "oh hell ye, i'd pay just to watch Neville hoof it 60 yrds up the pitch today?!"

---------

where is this story anyway? everything is just about the 16yr old scooter riding fool.

For the Captain - the man who's s'posed to be in-charge of the team and keeping spirits and the morale high - he doesn't half know how to threaten to kill half of it off in one go, now, does he!

We're very fortunate people like Nicky Butt and David Beckham have already left! What would they be thinking now if they were still here, having read what their captain just has - or, rather, hasn't said about them...?

Paul Scholes hasn't been the same for over a year now, and his confidence seems to be dropping slightly each and every time he plays - how will he feel now, knowing Keane has left him off the list?

What about Gary Neville at the back?
Rio Ferdinand in defence?
Other youngsters around the country - like Watford's Danny Webber - who have previously promised us so-much?

Just when things were begining to turn-around, our captain's gone and shot us in the foot. BOTH of them.
