It is a Compaq Armada M700 laptop with the following:
Windows 98
Memory 192.0 MB of RAM
Memory 5.58 GB
CD compartment
Leads for use of the mains aswell as a battery
Comes with its own carry case
IS that ok?
Assuming your landlord has some kind of network already set up, you will only need to plug it into your laptop's network adaptor socket (and possibly do a bit of twiddling in Windows, which your landlord/network admin should be able to help with). Cross this bridge when you come to it, though.
And another thing..i don't remember much about this PC i'm on now since it's a family computer and i just take for granted it has internet on. I'm moving into a house with internet connection and the landlord said i could hook up to that connection. If the laptop doesn't have internet on what do i need to do to get it on. I know i need a modem, so once i got that do i just plug it in and away i go or do i need a special programme.
As i said i'm a bit dumb when it comes to stuff like this, if anything goes wrong i just get my bro-in-law or my lil brother to sort it, but i'll be a few hundred miles away so i'll be relying on myself!

Its not very much really, added to the 650Mhz processor it wont be a flying machine. The 5.58GB hard drive is tiny, an album is typically 45-50MB so you could fit over 100 albums on there, but when you take into account the space taken up by documents and other programs it's really not a lot to play with. The hard drive in this computer is 120GB and ive completely filled it on 3 occasions.
is that good? will i be able to store all my music and photos?
