De Rossi is an absolute legend on CM and this season he will prove it at Roma with Emerson gone.
Real Madrid are also apparently after him too. Come on Fergie, dont let this one slip through!

You not watch him then in the second half of the season? Lad needed to be taken down in a tank to get him off his feet, and at least our players wait for the actual challenges unlike Mr Pires :-D

*sighs* how many times do we hear this whenever United don't win the title
*oooh it's the new era for English football*
and what happens every year? We win the title back (though i doubt we will this year not until we stop playing the under 16 team and actually get our first team back)

And they never will be - English manager or foreign. Because Enlish players are, by comparison to any other country (barring possibly Scotland, Ireland and Wales) s**t.
Having a few in the team can help, because they usually provide a battling backbone - they will run all day and get stuck in. But these days you need some flair if you want to win anything, and that can really only be found overseas. For all Joe Cole's shouting in the press about "I'm the man on the left that England need", he came on and did precisely nothing.

A remarkable comment from someone who supports a team with RvN in it. And then, of course, there's Phil "I've lost my dummy" Neville! And Ronaldo - though admittedly that's usually his own fault after getting his legs in a knot with too many step-overs.

Dennis Bergkamp took a 50% (or thereabouts) pay-cut to stay at Arsenal last season.
Sinking ship near the end of its days? Didn't realise he'd signed for United! :-)
Honestly though, your xenophobia never ceases to amaze me - especially for someone under the username of Solskjaer!

this i fully appreciate, but thats not what he said. He wrote off a player he hadn't heard off purely off his nationality:
"And no, I've never heard of this Italian bloke - after Massimo Taibi and Benito Carbone, do we really need another in our league?"
I merely corrected him that it is ridiculous to do this as there are clear cases of players suceeding as well as the failures. As he hadn't even heard of him it is moronic to make this assumption that he will fail

Not more than players from other teams. In fact there were times when Henry could have fallen in the box and won a penalty and he didn't.
It is true that someone from the italian league may struggle in the premiership since it is more slow moving football and they would be used to better weather but some players can adapt to it i.e. Bergkamp, Zola
It is purely moronic to pigeon hole players by race/nationality.

(because Paul Rachubka was such a raving success!)
You pair Howard with friedel and maybe even Keller Doesn't mean america is good at producing goalies. You moan about Taibi but look what cudicini has achieved (italy has the best choice of keepers in the world). George Weah was good lets all sign Liberians.
With an attitude like that I can only assume you are Gerard Houllier, "I sign on man from africa, he looked good in a tournament i'll sign a few more".
Pascal cygan is diabolical i'd get rid of that Henry and pires, oh and don't forget that Viera. If thierry Henry and Zidane were from San Marino would you sign the rest of the sqad.
It is just plain stupid to suggest especially from a nation with as proud a footballing history as Italy is moronic. I guarantee that there will be a 9000 word essay on here from you the first time Giuseppe Rossi (the 16 italian you sign from Parma) touches the ball and kicks it into row z a la darren fletcher, as you spunk all over your keyboard.
"Its like saying you should only sign americans cos howards worked out alright."

It worked with Brad Friedel, and now it's working with Tim Howard - why not, for decent goalkeepers, at least?
"Look Gattuso managed to succeed even after playing in scotland"

Yes, anyone can succeed in Scottish football!
Even old farts like Rod Wallace managed to prolong their 'success' for a little longer, just by moving North of the Border.
It wasn't until he left Rangers, really, that Reno Gattuso's career began to fully take off, with a move to AC Milan, regular international appearences and what...

You might not like my view, but it is my view on foreign players in general - especially the Europeans who come here solely on the basis of earning more money they'll never prove the right to earn.
There are, of course, many expections (Gianfranco Zola and Paulo Di Canio being but two). I just feel that 'Foreigners' aren't the answer to everything. If you've got a whole of vanancy in your team, why not give British talent a try first - and, at least, stake a very strong claim for Steven Gerrard's future.
Are England any better with a foreign manager in charge? No.
How many times in a season do we see an Arsenal player (mainly Pires) go down near the box under the slightest of - if ANY - contact?
When was the last time you saw a foreigner, like Neil Sullivan has done, accept a 75% wage-cut in order to gain some regular first-team football while aiding a sunken ship so very near to the end of its days?

yes and after zola, vialli, di matteo, do we not need one? That is such a crap statement. Its like saying you should only sign americans cos howards worked out alright. NAtionality doesn't come into it, its the player that counts. Look Gattuso managed to succeed even after playing in scotland
