Hey all, I'm back to give you one last gift before I disappear into the ether for ever more. Remember before I left last time, I promised I'd give you all proper user info pages, like on Special Observe? Well, we've finally got around to it. Now, by clicking on a user's name, you'll no longer be taken to a cruddly little pop-up, rather a brand spanking new full page full of user stats and info, including the last 10 posts you made (it's very handy, trust me).
Also, if you click on the Your SR Account link at the top of the page and scroll down to the Personal Profile section (in the Forum Options bit) then you'll come across a new section which allows you to add publicly viewable information like your real name, e-mail and MSN addys and website details should you wish to share them. There's also other crap like favourite films, consoles owned, that sort of thing.
So there it is. I expect this thread to fill up with people bitching about why there's no photographs, or why it's not better and how come we didn't do it like how what you done wanted. Conversely, if you come up with any good suggestions, then they might end up in there as well.

Abused how? There's always ignore and perhaps the ability to disallow JAT and Newbie users from using it.
Perhaps you need to experience being able to leave PMs on a forum. No more stupid threads asking for the attention of one person. Or the need to edit out personal information that you dont want everyone to see. It would probably increase traffic to the forum with people checking for new PMs rather than scare them off. That's if SR want more traffic on the forum. Otherwise probably best not to have it.

Abused how? There's always ignore and perhaps the ability to disallow JAT and Newbie users from using it.
Perhaps you need to experience being able to leave PMs on a forum. No more stupid threads asking for the attention of one person. Or the need to edit out personal information that you dont want everyone to see. It would probably increase traffic to the forum with people checking for new PMs rather than scare them off. That's if SR want more traffic on the forum. Otherwise probably best not to have it.
I think the current features are more than enough, to be honest.

And ICQ, AIM, YIM etc. Why are PMs used so much on other forums then? What if you dont want someone on your list or you dont have an IM program? I can see me leaving messages for many people on here, but not wanting them clogging up my MSN list.

It's like people having "Just my 2 cents" at the bottom of every post. It's lame, pompous, stupid, vein, pathetic and it's entirely irrelevant as your name appears next to your posts anyway.
However I would still like my name to be red. ;)

One of the best things about these forums is that there ISN'T avatars or signatures. We now have profile pages, leave it at that. The tagline will do for any identity we need.
