Howdi all.

A long, long time ago. Long time ago. There was a program mentioned on these forums. I'm feeling sure it was Zully who had it. Might not have been, though.

It was something like.. hm.. a little enhancement to the dekstop. Kind of like changing the skins and stuff, but this was a program which had huge icons and a neat layout. The taskbar was on the left, it had coool wallpapers, too. It felt kinda like having an Apple Mac.. :) Hell, this is gonna be hard! Absolutely no memory of the name of the software whatsoever.
Also, I'm not 100% sure if this was the same program, but I remember being able to leave notes on your desktop.

Oh.. and how easy is it to mess up your computer if you change the boot screen?!

Thankee :)

Ah, it does say there's an updated version though, so all may not be lost!

For real? I'd better not upgrade to SP2 then - I like my StyleXP :)

I have a similar thing for my iBook, it's called Konfabulator... the clock, temperature, calendar, notes etc are called widgets.

It's Mac-only at the moment, but they're working on a Windows version as we speak: http://www.widgetgallery.com/WindowsShot.jpg for a screenshot from last month.

I find them really useful, there's a great one with train times, so you can see what time trains leave from your local station right from your desktop. :)

It works wonders for my on my iBook, and I can't wait for a windows version for my PC.

Oh, and StyleXP doesn't work with XP SP2 I don't think... so you might want to stay away from that if you're going to install the patch (which you should!)

Silver-ish blue, maybe. No 'Start' button, or no 'All Programs', it was like a new computer!

Aaaaaaah, hang on a second.

Did the thing cover like the whole side?
As in, did it go from top to bottom?

And was it a blue sort of colour?

Wonderful...
... and so easy-to-use even for a technophobe like me. I had my website up in a couple of hours. Thank you.
