Seeing as being stuck in the open sea like that is one of everyone's greatest fears, I can see it being pretty scary, plus the way it's filmed will just add to the fear...
OK, I've just read some reviews on it after writing that paragraph, looks as if everyone had that sort of idea! It appears to be very slow and annoying, and no where near as good as it's supposed to be...

That's what happened with the real thing, so it's a pretty predictable story, and from what I've read it appears that there are some rather stupid parts to it...

Yeah, 'cos all those war films...y'know...

You're joking....right?

Castaway rocked!
The Trailer tried to make it look exciting by flashing the camera a bit, to take your focus off the fact that it's basically an hours worth of footage of two people stranded at sea. As far as movies go, the “people stranded at sea” genre is full of samey, boring looking films that try to keep peoples attention by trying to rob ideas off of Jaws and sticking sharks in the mix. One for me to miss I think.

Actually it's a great idea for a movie. Open water is one of people's biggest phobias, so a film that can portray this fear correctly will be excellent.
The way it's shot is meant to make it scarier, giving you the impression that you're actually there.
After reading that artical however, it appears that the film's all wrong. They didn't get eaten by sharks, dehydration would have been the killer of them, it's just been changed to scare people as usual.

Alllo Allo will never be the same again.
