I suppose I should get this, stuff is too hard to get on Kazaa now.

What client should I get? Preferably one without any spyware that's going to f**k my laptop to kingdom come...

I know that, but I found that ABC had a more accurate way of limiting the upload speed, so that my download wasn't choked.

The up/down speeds don't normally depend on what client you are using, but what ports you have open and the amout of peers there are.

Is it a decent GUI setup? I like how simple BitTornado works for me.

I didn't really like BitTornado - it just choked my downloads a lot. What I'd recommend is using ABC (Google: Another BitTorrent Client) and get that. It allows you to set upload and DL rates and I've found it the best client for not choking downloads with upload speeds. I quite often get speeds of 110kb/sec. Marvellous.

I've only ever had Spyware problems from eDonkey/Mule, Shareaza and Kazaa.

Never used Bearshare, just heard it's good - and Limewire Pro is Adware and Spyware-free.

Also, right click on the torrent link, and save target as and save it in the same folder as your download. That way you can quickly start the download running again when you turn your pc on and stuff.

If the download speed starts to drop, up the upload speed a bit to see if it gets any better.

I'm on 1mb. I set my connection to slow broadband and put the upload rate to 20. Once the torrents at its highest download speed, lower the upload rate gradually until you get to 10. That way it doesn't slow your internet surfing as much.
