It is number 10, right?

So here are the rules, put SSC10 in the tile somewhere. Or SSCX if you'd prefer.

Only one story per person.

As long as you like, but if I get bored I'll stop reading.

And the subject is:

'A CLOWN' OR 'CLOWNS'

Deadline: September 18th.

This does not mean I'll have it judged by that date.

Go read my story 'Something in the Air-Con' now, because I think you should, as I'm running this show.

And now it over, the big top's coming down, but before you leave, let me give you the results:

JUDGE'S REPORT How pretentious is that?

Not a huge number of entries to this, but I was pleased to see that most of those that did enter took it in the way I hoped, and attempted to produce a humourous piece.

Third Place

Grix Thraves with 'The Clown'. A very clever reworking of a classic. A judge that wasn't a poetry spaz would probably have given it a deserved win. At least you got a GAD for your efforts!

Second Place

Black Glove with 'Mister Kipper'. Insane, absolutely bonkers. Captured clowns in a way I've not seen before. I think I placed you second last time I was in charge, so sorry to do it again, but I couldn't resist a different story...

First Place

The winner is FinalFantasyFanatic with 'Help! I'm a Clown!' - and he doesn't even like it. I did, the concept is hilarious, and the delivery, with one side of the conversation, carries it off perfectly.

Well done one and all, and thanks for taking the time to enter.

I wrote something but never submitted.

It was really, really, shamefully awful.

Not too popular this one, eh?
Ah well - still got a few decent entries.

Pft, and I guess someone like you would write a comic caper featuring a clown having an identity crisis. Possibly.

In all honesty though, I thought I'd keep away from the "oh, I'm such a clown" stuff and even that story about the clown who goes to the psychologist only to be told he should go see himself perform, as he seems like a guy that's so full of life.

Noo... I have much darker ideas, muhahaha

If you want to post one just start a new topic here in "Life & Everything" titled "SSCX - {INSERT STORY NAME HERE}".

I'm new to this. Where do you post these short stories you speak of?'

FF is so obviously gay with competition concepts.
Ugh.

I'll expect someone like Kyz will do something about the class clown at school being actually really depressed and killing himself.

And I expect someone like Grix will do something about an actual, middle-aged clown being really depressed and killing himself - in an office.

Yus.

NO, BECAUSE WE ALL THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO HAVE A LASTING RELATIONSHIP WITH THE ABSTRACT CONCEPT OF AN INTERNET TOPIC.
