And equally.. quite a few people intending to buy a GC...
However... What IF... a couple of years down the line... As a result of business tactics by both Sony and MS...
Nintendo goes the way of Sega and is pushed out of console gameing...
I'm not trying to say the GC is doomed... or that Sony and MS need to do dodgy business dealings in order to survive...
What I was wondering was what would you do if Ninty were taken off the field...
Would you buy another console... or give up on gaming altogether? ... Stick with the GC's released titles until the next gen consoles come around?
The same question goes to PS2 gamers... What would you do if the GC and X-Box releases next year kill off Sonys machine... with more developers jumping ship to other platforms as the days go by?
If the Gamecube Failed I think I would make my own console...called the Game-o-matic. It would have the best of all worlds and I would sign top developers such as infrogrammes and Hot House....but no dodgy companies like Sega > Sonic Team or Nintendo...:D
The Game-o-matic - Keep your eyes peeled!
Game
Gaming never used to be this complicated. When I was ten, and contemplating getting a SNES or a megadrive, I never thought about whether I liked Nintendo or Sega. I didn't care which machine was older, or which had good games in the pipeline. I cared about what was out already, and what games I could borrow from my mates.
Seven years later I find myself reading a debate about consoles doomed to a bleak future, and the merits of a machine I probably won't play for at least a year.
I'm not sure where I'm going with this post. It's begging me to say something about the futility of looking at the future based on values that don't apply to the majority of gamers, but belittling attempt to look at the future of gaming, would be an inappropriate thing to do in a forum entitled 'the future of gaming', wouldn't it?
I am 99.2% sure the Gamecube will not fail.
No, I shall play games as long as I enjoy them. And if the Gamecube fails, I'll keep that around for a while, and probably buy an X-Box.
Is this topic basically, "What is your second choice?"
