Luis Garcia wasn't offside. Very close though.
Nice goal too.

Of course you do. I'm a genius.

Nah, Kewell on the left, and Garcia on the right. But that's what you meant anyway, so I'll let you off.

So what're you trying to say? I don't get it.

Nothing wrong with Carragher, other than he's guilty of being blatantly not Spanish in public. He's a good Scouse lad who tackles well and can head the ball. He's Mikeys best mate, which is good enough for me.

I concur.

Sorry to disagree Stryke, but Warnock was arguably our best player during the first half.

But agree with everything else you said. :P

Disagree with Ashley though, Carragher is a quality defender, he used to be too unconfident and a bit dodgy at times (very much like Traore is now) but has grown in stature over the last year or so and he hardly sets a foot wrong these days.

Luis Garcia and Xabi Alonso both looked pretty good, but I seriously think Rafa Benitez is gonna literally kill us off if he puts Alonso ahead of Gerrard in the pecking order...just because he's Spanish ffs.

We need Baros and Cisse up front though, and so the obvious formation to play is what Stryke said - drop Hamann and stick Alonso and Gerrard in the centre, with Garcia in the left and Kewell on the right.

er nearly:

Josemi, NEW SIGNING NEW SIGNING NEW SIGNING, Hyypia, Riise
Garcia, Gerrard, Alonso, Kewell
Baros, Cisse

You need another proper centre back, and i am sick and tired of him getting in the England squad. Hopefully you'll buy some one really good and cool to watch then sell Carragher to Everton/Spurs/Charlton and he will never be seen in the england set up ever again.

On another note. With the exception of cisse that could have been the worst bunch of miss fits ever seen on a subs bench!

Traore, Cisse, Diao, Harrison, Biscan.

It made me laugh, and you cry

He's new in the team, and a stupid formation was played. Not his fault.

You do realise that Alonso played most of these hated long balls don't you?

Ridiculous decision. There was no way that could be perceived as offside. Dirty Bolton linesman.

In other news, we played terribly. This could be to do with the WORST formation I've ever seen. Listen Rafa, it's very simply. 4-4-2:

Josemi, Carragher, Hyypia, Riise
Garcia, Gerrard, Alonso, Kewell
Baros, Cisse

Don't give me this 5 in midfield with Alonso in the centre crap. Warnock? You make me laugh. Baros up front on his own? Yep, that'll work as well as Mikey up front on his own worked. Jesus, he could even have played Garcia up front. He wanted that 10 shirt, make him prove it.

So the long ball returned. Hardly surprising with Gerrard being forced out of the middle and Warnock (hah) not exactly having Kewell's talent. And as for Hamann playing...pffft. That's why we've got Alonso, so we can sell Hamann to Crewe Alexandra.

But I saw a few encouraging sides. Namely, Alonso. He was superb, and his passes were even better than Stevie's.
