Seems that the PSP can have custom soundtracks by using the Memory Stick.
That's got to be good news - for those who use custom soundtracks on Xbox you'll know what I mean...

IGN did a test for this, that had the battery power really pitiful. Although it can last a while on sleep mode.
Playing games AND listening to music, you're looking at 2 hours gameplay, maximum.
And I'm not being critical. It's just the case. If battery life doesn't bother you, go for it.

It lasts 3 1/2 hours when playing Ridge Racers, IGN reported it.
Although Ridge Racers doesn't have this option anyway I believe.
I'm also still keen to see exactly how long the battery lasts in a 'proper' test. As opposed to the Nintendo rumour mill test which currently has it down to 13 minutes.
Sigh...

It will subtract from the 2 3/4 hours that you've already got to play on Ridge Racers!

It will definitely be a huge eye-opener for some people. And contrary to some comments on here, Xbox owners who DO use the feature will be very intrigued by this.
The level downloads etc is also a very 'Microsoft' kind of move but let's not knock it, it's got to be good for PSP owners.
Not sure about the music downloads (I have an iPod and can't see me using a seperate place just for the PSP. Not much need really. Will suit a lot of people though I'm sure.

I have one already and custom soundtracks isn't for everyone I'm sure.
I guess if your music collection includes Steps, Busted and The Tweenies it doesn't have the same appeal...

Would the thought of free games for the PSP ( http://www.brandrepublic.com/digitalbulletin/news_story.cfm?articleID=233285&Origin=DB26012005 ) tempt you further?
