It's one of the most dull single player games I've ever played. Now Big Rigs... THAT is a game.
They don't dislike it, the game just didn't live up to the uber expectations of most fans. Everyone was also expecting a gargantuan battle on Earth, but the story deviated from that near the start, and that was another thing.
But after the initial "disappointment", I've grown to enjoy it far more than the first. The playground possibilites are plentiful. e.g. stare at the redhead soldier and listen to what she comes out with.
Pistol gliding over grunts in the first few levels is also great.
Oh, another discovery made today - play the Delta Halo level on all difficulties, and at the starting cutscene where you see the jackal and grunt by the turret, the grunt plays with something different on each setting. See for yourself.
